EpiFaith is an indicator syringe made to provide safer and more convenient needle localisation during epidural anaesthesia.

Clear visual signal for safe needle localisation

Thanks to its detection mechanism, EpiFaith transforms pressure information into an objective and quantitative visual indication instead of subjective and unclear hand feedback. In combination with an epidural needle, a coloured ring and moving piston are simultaneously activated the moment the needle tip enters the epidural space, indicating a clear endpoint for needle movement.

EpiFaith is intuitive and can accommodate operators' usage habits. The syringe has a unique two-part plunger designed with a fixator. The user only needs to press the plunger until the coloured ring is hidden. The user can then concentrate on operating the needle with both hands. The fixator holds the plunger while detecting pressure.

User-friendly

Clinical settings are complicated and have many variables. Thus, doctors tend to develop different habits for different procedures. Our physician-oriented design not only accommodates users, but also allows them to incorporate their experiences to achieve simpler and safer results. EpiFaith is compatible with regular epidural needles with a Luer or NRFit connector and is easily operated and optimised by clinicians. Users can choose procedure-specific detection medium such as air or saline and specific detection pressure. Moreover, pressure sensing can be paused or restarted to prevent false positives, simply by depressing or withdrawing the plunger.
